Best tea filter out there December 23, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I liked this enough to buy another and I've yet to find another tea filter anywhere near as good as this one. It holds just the right amount of tea for a 10-12oz cup or mug, allowing them to fully expand and steep properly. Certainly, like all tea filters and tea balls, certain loose leaf teas will leave behind some sediment or trace amounts of particulates, but that's the nature of the tea. It's pretty easy to clean - you just rinse it out in the sink and let it dry. Throw it in the dishwasher if it gets too stained for you. I really don't have any complaints about it. It does a great job.
Not Quite December 17, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was looking to add a second tea strainer to my rotation to help take the load off of my old faithful, a large nylon mesh strainer with the same basic design, but a wider bottom. This one was a disappointment. The tea was noticeably weaker because the leaves didn't have as much room to spread out. Worse, the narrow throat combined with the plastic cross at the bottom made this really tedious to clean out. I couldn't find a cleaning tool that fit inside.
Eventually, the dishwasher jet flipped this upside down, causing the plastic bottom to hit the heating element during the drying cycle and melt. I wasn't all that sad to see it go. Look for something with a wider bottom for better flavor and easier cleaning.
Great Tea Strainer December 13, 2007 Great Tea Strainer. Very high quality. Just started drinking loose teas, and this product works well, as advertised.
Wonderful Discovery October 12, 2007 Before I bought this filter I sometimes used disposable tea bags, those tea "balls" or tea pots. This is so much better than all of those options: nothing gets thrown out (except for the tea leaves) and I get to make a different cup of tea for each person.
Great for brewing a cup! September 15, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Works very well, easy to clean, lid makes handy drip tray. Have given several as gifts. Would be perfect if the all parts that came into contact with hot water/tea were metal, instead of some plastic.
