Birthday January 10, 2007 My daughter loves this story and she would like to have all of the George books. However, in this story I was a bit surprised when George invited a pack of dogs into the kitchen to lick it clean!
Cute January 4, 2007 A great little book that my son enjoyed receiving for his birthday. It's a much loved book that already shows many signs of wear.
Kinda Gross...But Amusing July 20, 2006 At breakfast, The Man with the Yellow Hat tells George that he has a surprise planned and lots to do to get ready. "You can help me by staying out of trouble" says the man. George is happy to help, but you know how curious George can be...
George ends up finding noisemakers, ballons, hats, streamers, and games...he couldn't resist playing with them! He then "decorated" the living room (yikes!) and works his way into the kitchen--where he spots a chocolate cake that is cooling.
He had seen his friend make frosting before, and decides to "help" him by making frosting. Needless to say, he makes a major mess! So how does he clean up? He gets the neighborhood dogs to lick off the mess on the sink, counters, and floor. (Ewww!)
The Man is none the wiser as he comes in from outside. He was purchasing coconut ice cream from the ice cream man, you see.
There was a surprise all right...can you guess whose birthday it is?
A frolicking tale in the spirit of the Rey books, children will no doubt be delighted with the antics in Curious George and the Birthday Surprise.
How can you go wrong with Curious George? March 3, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this book to use as favors for my children's birthday party. The party was taking their cousins/friends to see the movie Curious George. It's a very cute book and Curious George's curiousity doesn't get him in too much trouble. It shows all the things that the man in the yellow hat does to prepare for a surprise party for George. It's great to see my children (3 and 5) enjoying book characters that I enjoyed as a child.
curious george is having a party! April 8, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The man is the yellow hat tells George that he is working on a surprise. George gets curious like always. He looks around and finds lots of party decorations. He decides to put them up to help his friend with the yellow hat. George smells something great in the kitchen. He discoves it'a cake and try to help put the icing on it. He makes a big mess. Soon the man with the big hat comes home and George finds out the party is for him!Curious George is always into something. I like to here the stories and see where his curiousity leads him. I would recommed this to kids ages 3-8. Most kids enjoy Curious George storties and this is very cute one.
