I am not a reader. I always had the excuse that carrying heavy books around was not useful and I could never find time to read at home with kids screaming, dishes to be done, endless straightening and work brought home from the office. No excuses anymore. The Kindle has turned me into a reader. I downloaded a 900 page book in less than a minute and have not put my Kindle down since.
My only complaint is that it is difficult to know what page you are on. There is a line of dots at the bottom that shows progress but sometimes knowing that you have read 200 pages out of 900 gives reassurance that 4 dots does not.
The wireless feature is amazing and I have even started reading the newspaper. We get one at home but my husband steals it before I have a chance to look at it. Now he wants to read the paper on my Kindle but I have told him to back off and get his own.
I just ordered the light but have to say that the digital ink technology is fantastic. I took my Kindle to the beach over vacation and had no problem reading in the direct sunlight with my sunglasses on.

Bought it for my Husband and he loves it. Only thing I wish is that it could be used in the dark.

I originally purchased the Sony Digital Reader and returned it because of the inconvenience of downloading books. The one good feature of the Sony is the pivot on the reader and book cover. Aside from that, the Kindle wins hands down. The downloads are fast. Huge selection to choose from. Love the idle screens. I have not been able to figure out if I can make a separate list of the books I have read already on the Kindle. If not, it would be a nice added feature but not enough to stop me from purchasing it. It is always with me and causes excitement whenever someone realizes what I am doing.

I recieved the Kindle for my birthday and it is definitely one of the best gifts I ever recieved. I am a highschool chemistry teacher & a coach so I find that I have zero time to sit and read. This has solved that problem! Whether I am in line at a store or waiting for a doctors appointment, I have my kindle in my purse so I can read anywhere! Its worth the price if you love to read because the books are at a discounted price. Some books are cheaper than others but none-the-less they are still cheaper than if you bought it at a bookstore. Yes, the buttons are a little sensitive but its something that you get used to. It comes with a cover so its protected while its in my purse (thank goodness!), but the kindle seems to be indestructable (knock-on-wood). I would recomed it for avid readers or those, like myself, who love to read but cant find the time.

I THINK THE SIDES ARE TOO SMALL ON THE KINDLE AND IS EASY TO TURN PAGES WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TOO. OTHERWISE I REALLY LIKE IT.
