Good Product, needs a better cover December 4, 2008
It does everything you want and is very convenient; reads just like a book. I just wish the cover and the how the kindle sits in it was designed a little better. And, of course, i wish you could "rent" books from the library through your kindle, that would make it perfect.
 Addicted to my Kindle December 4, 2008
My Kindle was given me as a birthday present in June - five months ago. I am an avid reader, owner of a thousand or more books. Never thought I would tolerate a book substitute. It took a while, but now I am doing a big percentage of my reading on the Kindle. I find its screen startlingly friendly to the eye.
I recently discovered the availability of newspapers on Kindle, a real treat when away from my usual home delivery of the WSJ.
Will you continue to expand the "experimental" uses of the Kindle? How about email?

When I first saw the Kindle I thought it was a clever idea, but I couldn't imagine giving up the feel of actually buying a book and holding it. Reading, to me, is an emotional experience. I thought you would lose that with the Kindle. But, after watching the clips about it several times, and watching Jeff on Oprah, I decided I wanted to give it a try. It is amazing! It is easy to hold in one hand and you can change pages with your thumb. If you want to reread something, it is easy to go back as many pages as you wish with just a flick of your finger. If you are a person who likes to read more than one book at a time--this makes it even easier to do. You can easily switch between multiple books. I loved the feature of being able to look up definitions of words. It's a snap. Downloading books couldn't be any faster and the battery really does last a long time. The very best thing is that I don't feel I have lost any of the emotional feel of reading a book. It's expensive, but I'm saving money on books and it will pay for itself in no time. All in all, a terrific device and I just love it.

all of the publishers get a cut of everything you read/buy & there is no paper involved? even the best ipod is cheaper. i don't get it? you can buy a computer cheaper....
Unable to get books for my kindle December 4, 2008

I love my kindle. The only problem I have is that I have requested thru the amazon system to the purblishers to add books to the kindle system and I never get any reponse. I'm reading a series of books written by Patricia Cornwell and I can't get several of her books.
