 The centerpiece of my party had some problems. February 6, 2007

I held a chocolate party. This was the centerpiece. Midway through the night the fountain started behaving badly - it made noise, it "sheeted" funny (meaning that there were parts where chocolate wasn't coming out right), and the fact that I had to mix my chocolate with oil meant that the chocolate tasted oily. All in all, everyone stared at it all night but hardly anyone used it. When I went to shut it down, it made a mess.
Neat effect, but not for those who don't have practice with one of these things.

I bought 3 of these for Christmas gifts for daughter-in-laws. They were thrilled and I should have bought one for myself!

This product is great if you are having a large party and creates a very beautiful fountain of chocolate. However, you must use a lot of chocolate to keep the flow running and not ruin the motor. I felt like there was a lot of waste. We did freeze some of the chocolate in ice cube trays but I would prefer having a chocolate fondue pot because we would use it quite a bit more.

The product arrived defective and after melting the chocolate in a microwave, it didn't flow smoothly as it showed in pictures. Melting the chocolate in a double boiler gives you a better texture for the fountain to flow.
