More Diverse than you Might Think September 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this to enhance food preparation for my experimentation with a raw foods diet. I read the reviews on Amazon before purchasing and I am glad I bought it in spite of some reviews stating it's limitations.
I have found it to be an excellent tool for cutting raw beets (yum), daikon, cucumber, and zucchini. I plan to try it on yams and carrots as well. Vegetables cut in a different way really do alter the taste. Zucchini cut on this is a wonderful substitute for pasta, great for someone with celiac, someone watching carbohydrates or calories. It has two settings, one that makes a continuous wider slice that looks ruffled and one that looks like vermicelli. I recommend this highly.
spiral slicer August 31, 2008 I love my new saladacco slicer, it is so amazing, I can do all kinds of things with it.
Excellent August 8, 2008 This is a great product. It is great for spiralizing zucchini and great for my raw food lifestyle. Love it!
Wish it were better July 30, 2008 I've had this for a few months and was really confused about how to use it. The instructions are really unclear. You need "fat" zucchini and carrots to make the "pasta" strands. When it works, it is great and makes some pretty "continuous ribbons" for garnish. I just noticed there is some rust at the base of the handle and don't understand why they wouldn't use non-rusting parts for something that is obviously going to get wet when you clean it. I would recommend it if you know what you're buying. I don't know anything else that does the fine shreads like this does.
Does what it's supposed to July 26, 2008 I make zucchini noodles, thinly-sliced vegetables, and garnishes easier than ever. Great for raw foodists!
