Great Product May 30, 2008 I love this fondue pot. It's quick, heats evenly, and the heat can be easily controlled. Be sure to get a good extension cord for the too-short that comes attached, but otherwise it's great.
Cuisinart Electric Fondue makes April 5, 2008 Worked wonderfully for a buffet dinner party. Bought actually 2, one for cooking meat and also had a cheese fondue. No sticking. Only problem was the cord was too short. I understand the safety considerations, but without an extension cord they would have been useless. Needed to check on the temperature and change throughout the evening. But very convenient
Minor complaints, but can't give it 5 stars March 16, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I did quite a bit of research on this fondue set before buying from Amazon and I love it. The set was easy to prep before use and easy to setup. There were some complaints on the short cord, but for safety this is fine and to be honest plugging it in is easy.
The pot is easy to clean-up and fun to use. The pot construction is great, feels heavy duty. I have only used it for oil so far, but the temperature setting was perfect according to included recipe book.
The two complaints I have are that 1 of the forks was really bent when I got it. This was fairly easy to bend back, but somebody should have caught this before shipping. The second is that the ring that sits on the pot does not sit there well. It is a little confusing which end sits down and then it will move around a little when in place. Other than that, this is a great fondue set.
Cheese/Chocolate February 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I did a lot of research on fondue pots. Have eaten at The Melting Pot countless times, asked lots of questions... I chose this pot because of the reviews. This pot keeps a regulated temperature perfectly! I made a chocolate fondue - absolutely no problems. I also made a spinach/artichoke cheese fondue. I had one issue with it. Definitely could have been an error on my part, but I never could get the cheese and the broth to completely mix. The center of the pot would be the right consistency, but the outer edges were pure liquid. Again, it could be the combo of cheeses I used or something, cause the chocolate worked excellent!
Attention to detail makes this a top quality Fondue Pot February 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've owned six different fondue pots over the years. This one is hands down the best. Cuisinart has addressed every problem I've had with previous fondue pots.
Lets start with the pros: -All stainless construction. Even the feet, handles, and fork resting ring are completely stainless steel. This thing is quality. -Breakaway magnetic power plug: this is a safety thing. If someone runs into the cord, you want it to break away without upsetting the hot oil/cheese. -High precision temp control: some pots have only a few presets for temperature. this pot allows you to select in between the dial tick marks. -Electric element: Electric pots are the way to go. They give you temp control (unlike the flame pots), and they get hot enough to do oil fondue. Pots using the fuel/fire thingies do not get hot enough, and do not stay hot enough to do oil fondue.
And for the Cons: -I would prefer a slightly larger pot, this can get cramped with 5 people, and don't even try having 6 forks in it at once.
A+, best fondue pot I've ever bought.
