Wonderful (and low-cost), if you like iced tea October 18, 2007
My wife and I switched from all-day coffee to all-day unsweetened iced tea some years ago, to avoid the jitters and acid stomach. At first, we'd pile a half-dozen supermarket teabags in a pitcher, cover with boiling water, and brew. It was messy and expensive but got the job done.
Then we discovered extra large teabags at a restaurant supply in a nearby town, and started using them. Same flavor, but cheaper and not as many wet bags to deal with. We'd make a trip once every couple of months to stock up. We went through a couple of national and regional brands, looking for the best flavor.
I've been getting these through Amazon for about a year now. No need to travel, much less expensive, and taste really good. I've also found the seller to be very responsive the one time we had a problem.
Put one in a half-gallon pitcher, cover with very hot water, and leave on the counter for a few hours. Then refrigerate and serve with ice. You can leave the bag in the brewed tea, until you make the next batch. You can also brew it in a large commercial coffeemaker.
Excellent, refreshing, no calories, and no caffiene kickback.
