Editorial Review This docking station makes sure that the Leapster L-Max portable learning game system is charged and ready when kids want to use it. The kid-friendly charging dock requires two fast and simple steps that even kindergarten-age children can perform. Kids simply insert the rechargeable battery pack (included) into the back of their Leapster L-Max and then pop the game system into the dock. The L-Max fully recharges in about 4 hours but can be removed from the recharging system at any point to operate the gaming device on a partial charge. The Leapster L-Max removes from the dock just as easily as it goes in and holds its charge for anywhere between 6 and 11 hours (depending on how long it is used in one stretch) before starting to fade. The battery pack should last for about 300 charges before requiring a replacement, which must be purchased directly from LeapFrog. The entire kit comes with a recharging dock, rechargeable battery pack, and AC adapter and is covered by LeapFrog under a 3-month warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde
Product Description Leapster L-Max Learning System comes with the recharging kit; you can pop the handheld system into the charging dock and resume playing in about four hours. It's easy to do. The kit includes recharging dock, rechargeable battery pack and AC adapter. It can be used only with Leapster L-Max handheld.

Great Value!!! November 16, 2008 We got the Leapster L-Max and were burning through batteries at an excessive speed (4 AA batteries after approximately 12 hours of playing). Now the recharging system allows us to recharge the unit when needed and reduces the need for expensive replacement batteries. I would recommend the recharging system for any Leapster game system.
AWESOME, WONDERFUL!!! November 12, 2008 I purchased this Leapster rechargable for my 5 year old daughter who never lays down her Leapster hardly ever!! She is getting very good at writing straight line for her numbers and letters. The educational games are wonderful and the rechargable system is an excellent buy!! She especially loves the plug in accessory that comes with this kit. She can sit and play her Leapster as long as she wants and never worry about a battery shortage. Thanks so much for this product!!! I am a very satisfied customer!
Great Product Overpriced!!! September 6, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I own a leapster recharging system which I purchased at my local Wal Mart for $35.00 BRAND NEW!!! The system also comes with an ac adapter which your child can plug in and play. You then hook the ac adapter to the charging dock and let the leapster charge. It is that easy. Don't buy from these overpriced dealers unless it is absolutely a must. Check your local stores (WalMart, Toys R Us)first.
Functional and easy to use May 21, 2008 Works exactly as advertised. My son LOVES his Leapster and we were tearing through batteries. The LeapFrog Recharging System is a perfect solution!
The Charger is GREAT! April 16, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am so glad I purchased the charger - it was well worth the $$! Having the charger means I don't have to get the screwdriver, take the batteries out, charge them, get the screwdriver again and put them back. I like the fact that my 5 year old can click this right onto the charger by himself and take if off by himself. Or I can click it on to the cradle at night when we go to bed and it's ready to go in the morning. It's very easy! And I have not yet had a problem with him wanting to play with the system and it not being charged, and he plays it almost daily.
