Here are some tips for storing raisins:- Because raisins are too sweet for microorganisms to survive, they need no preservatives. Controlled, cool storage is the best way to keep raisins.- Heat and air can cause raisins to dry out and humid conditions will cause the sugar in the fruit to crystallize. Therefore, after the package has been opened, raisins should be put in a sealed container or a plastic bag and refrigerated. Raisins will retain their flavor, color and nutritive value up to two years if stored in the refrigerator.- They can be kept even longer if frozen. Raisins will thaw quickly at room temperature.- If raisins have formed sugar crystals or become dry due to improper storage, rinse them in hot tap water to dissolve the crystals and restore the moisture.
