Product Description Hi-chews are a soft and chewy candy from Japan. It has a similar texture to bubblegum but it never loses it's flavor. Doesn't hurt to try... October 7, 2008 We all have sweet tooth. Sometimes we eat junk food more than regular. Then again we also need a quick snack, or just want to eat candy. Ever thought abought trying something different from another country ? Straight out of Japan, land of the rising sun, is a taffy candy known as Hi-Chew. Kind of like starburst, but more chewy and a powerful flavor(s). They come in many different flavors that you can't pass up. Highly recommended for those that want to try something new.
Best Taffy Candy Ever! December 5, 2007 I lived in Japan from 2001 - 2003, and used to eat these things by the bagful! They are similar in taste to Mambas, but much more realistically flavored, with the grape and strawberry being especially good, and the yogurt being the best of all. What really clinches their deliciousness is their chewability, which is almost like a taffy/gum. I'm not sure of a better way of putting it, but it's definitely one of a kind...
My favorite way to eat them was to eat half of a yogurt piece with half of a fruit piece. The result = candy heaven!
I used to get Hi-Chews with small packs of hard sour gummies (can't remember the name) and go to town. Besides those two candies I really prefer U.S. stuff, but oh boy, are those two good! ;^)
My Favorite Candy March 6, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The only way this 'sampler' could be more complete would be if they had the Yogurt flavor in there as well (my personal favorite) The Hi-Chew Candy is very different than any American Candy, the closest similar product I can think of is 'Mamba' But Hi-Chew flavor is much more unique, and the texture just seals the deal for me. I gladly pay the price and shipping to have these around at my house, I love them!
one of the best taffy candies out there October 29, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this candy for my sister on a recent trip to japan and decided to try a few while waiting for my flight. After trying just one I went back to the small stand where i got them and brought 5 more packs (I found the apple and strawberry flavored ones to be the best). When i got back to the good US of A I did a search for Japanese items on Amazon just to see what I could find and was totally suprised to find this candy for sale on Amazon. Needless to say I got one of these packs right away:)
If you like taffy style candies give this one a try you won't be disappointed!
