Our huge Australian glace apricots couldn't be improved - or so we thought - until we dipped then in dark, delicious Belgian chocolate. The result is even more fabulous than you can imagine. There's something naughty about these beauties for all their well-mannered elegance. These are the largest apricots available anywhere. These Jumbo dried apricots are simmered in a natural fruit nectar and lightly glaceed, then half-dipped in rich Belgian chocolate. There's no turning your back on these!. Watch the way this one pound box disappears at parties and get-togethers. They are irresistible, straight from the box, or if you can wait, as an after dinner confection with coffee.

 Not very many apricots. December 15, 2007
I bought this product based on the other review stating that they received 18 apricots. The manufacturer should state how many are in the box. I received eight, making the $8.95 shipping extreme per apricot. Since I needed more I am in a bind. (I haven't weighed them, but could 8 apricots weigh a pound?)

These are absolutely delicious! I bought both the plain and the chocolate dipped variety. The vendor was kind enough to inform me that I needed to upgrade to overnight shipping so that they did not melt enroute, and they cancelled my order at my request so that I could re-order through Amazon without reservation. The thirty plus dollars in shipping costs made them extremely pricey, and I would probably not spend this kind of money again. Other than the outrageous cost (worthwhile until you figure in the cost of expedited shipping), the packaging is problematic. They were shipped with plastic bags full of ice which melted and leaked. Although it did not damage the product the potential was there. They are just layered in a tissue style paper in a cardboard box. Aesthetically pleasing, but the paper sticks to them if they are refrigerated. The product is stellar, and certainly worth the highest rating if the seller just put a little more practical thought into the packaging and the price were less prohibitive.

My wife is something of a glace apricot fanatic, which in turn makes her some kind of expert I guess . Both she and I agree that these have to be some of the best tasting glace apricots that we've ever tried. The apricots are themselves sweet, but not so-much sugary sweet, more of an intense apricot sweetness that is cut by the good quality chocolate. And as has already been mentioned, these benefit from being served chilled.

The apricots are sweet and sticky and huge! Emphasis on sweet. I don't know why, but I was expecting them to have some tart, but they are hardly tart at all. I'm glad I got these chocolate dipped ones as the chocolate seems to offset the sweetness of the fruit. Yes, the fruit (to me) seems sweeter than the chocolate if you can imagine. The chocolate exists as a smooth hard shell over half the fruit. The entire confection is somewhat overpowering at room temperature, so I chilled them in the fridge overnight and they turned out great. About 18 individual pieces came in my box. Viva Australia!

This company provides a nice product presentation and very good shipping service. My apricots were fresh and in good shape for shipping. I have ordered twice from this company and recommend them. I will order again from them in the near future.
