The smoothest dark chocolate in the world! August 25, 2008 88% is pretty intense and in most chocolates it would be extremely bitter with that sour note, but not Hachez! This stuff is incredibly smooth and delicious. It has only 8 grams of sugar in the whole bar. For those of us who either don't love sweets or are working on cutting back on them, this is the perfect treat - intense, smooth chocolate with just a hint of sweetness. World Market used to carry it, now I have to buy it online since I'm down to my last 3 bars. Also, try their chocolate leaves, they are gorgeous and delicious.
smoothest least bitter dark chocolate I have ever eaten September 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This chocolate has a smoother taste and is the least bitter of any dark chocolate I have ever tried, including many varieties in the 60-80% range. In fact, I think this bar is better than the other Hachez dark chocolates with a lower percentage of cacao. The only reason I can imagine that someone would find this bitter is if they had never had anything darker than regular American milk chocolate, and even then, the taste of this chocolate is so much richer than milk chocolate that it can't compare. I also love milk chocolate, but when I want a richer, less sweet flavor, I go directly for this chocolate bar.
Bitter? huh? June 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I also don't understand the one reviewers comments. Compared to Hershey's 60 and 65% dark chocolates, Hachez 88% is really smooth with just enough sweetness to combat any possible bitterness.
SMooooooooth Chocolate! February 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm at a total loss for the other reviewer's opinion. I have switched from regular chocolate to dark chocolate over the last few years, and at long last I've found a nice, smooth creamy dark that has the fewest carbs I've ever found in an edible chocolate. I LOVE this stuff.
I'm not buying it here though because I need a case. I need a case because I can't seem to hide it well enough from the family! At four bucks a bar, it's not cheap, but it's definitely worth every penny.
Bitter, bitter... January 5, 2007 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Though if bitter is what you are going for...well buy it. Just not palatable for me.
