Product Description Natural licorice flavored candy allsorts from England. 16oz Bag Now with 2 FREE ounces, 16oz. total!!!The first Bassett's sweets were made in 1842 when George Bassett founded his confectionery company in Sheffield, England.Bassett's Liquorice Allsorts were created by accident in 1899, when Charlie Thompson, a salesman for Bassett's visited a wholesaler with a sample of liquorice and cream paste specialities - chips, rocks, Buttons, nuggets, plugs and twists. Each item was offered to the wholesaler and in turn was refused. The salesman clumsily gathered his samples boxes together, knocking them over and spilling the colourful sweets on the counter. The wholesaler saw more attraction in the 'mixed' sweets and placed an order. The salesman named them Liquorice Allsorts.

licorice review July 4, 2008 The Bassetts licorice itself was fabulous..but then, that is why I bought it. I knew it was fabulous. The shipping however, was ridiculous! This bag could have easily been shipped in a flat rate priority envelope for less than $5, instead of a box for a charge of nearly $8.00!
The Best of the Best Licorice, made in England February 20, 2008 Are you a Licorice Lover? Then look no more. Bassett's Licorice Allsorts are fresh and soft. Not like these cheap imitations that are hard as a rock. They have a wonderful flavor that you will surely love. I have given them to people that hate licorice in general. They cannot put it down, since they tried it. At a reasonable price, I share them with my family and grandchildren.
Bassett's Allsorts January 22, 2008 As a confirmed licorice addict, Allsorts are amongst my very favorites. Bassetts generally makes the very best. Unfortunately, of the two bags that I ordered one was fine but the other seemed to be old, dated , stock. The candies were hard and a bit hard to chew. The other bag was excellent. Will buy again, but will be careful of dated stock.

These Allsorts are wonderful. They have the flavor and texture that they should have. I will try to keep a bag in the house at all times!
