A Surprisingly Subtle Fruit Flavor Compliments a Strong Black Tea February 26, 2006

I'm not one who generally enjoys diluting my tea with fruit flavors, but I found this tea quite palatable.
While the odor of the fruit is strong, the flavor subtly compliments the tea rather than overpowering it the way that other brews do.
In the mood to experiment, I purchased a Christmas blend at the same time as the Lili'uokalani and was rather disgusted by the manner in which the harsh spices of the Christmas tea seemed to curdle on my tongue. I would not recommend a Christmas tea to anyone with a discerning palette.
Yet what a pleasant surprise I found with my next kettle, when I tried the Lili'uokalani. The passion fruit enhances the tea in much the same way that a touch of peach or raspberry does, yet it is savory in its own unique fashion and blossoms into a heavenly treat with just a bit of honey.
I heartily recommend it.
