Most Arbequina table olives are grown in Aragon and Cataluna, near the border of France in the locality of Garrigues. The olives have a sweet and firm texture, with a color ranging from pale green to medium brown -- which is a good way to describe their wonderfully elusive taste -- somewhere between that of a green and a brown olive. Even though they are tiny in size they have a sweet robust flavor. Arbequina olives go well with fresh fruits, garden salads, or just as a snack. Arbequina olives also produce a sweet buttery olive oil that is great for crisp greens.In addition to being a table olive, this variety yields a prized gourmet olive oil.
