| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Lemon Drop is two opposites colliding to create nirvana: Pure sugar, bitter lemons. Since its origin in the early 1990s, Lemon Drops have meant something: stay a little longer, smile a little brighter, let the sun shine in. A refreshing cocktail perfect for the summer months! MIXER ONLY. RIMMERS SOLD SEPERATELY.

| Customer Reviews:
The Lemon Drop Kid December 30, 2006 The title refers not only to a great Damon Runyon-esque film with Bob Hope, but (obliquely) to this alcohol-based mixer. The flavor value depends on what kind of drink you make. It's too tart for the pure alcohol flavor of say, a vodka martini, but it would mix well with a warm weather drink, perhaps a Tom Collins, for example.
Stirrings goes to the trouble of including a recipe on the bottle; this one is called a "Lemon Drop."
"In a cocktail shaker, combine two parts Lemon Drop Mixer with 1 part vodka and plenty of ice. Cover and shake vigorously. Strain into a rimmed marini glass."
I would emphasize the "plenty of ice" when mixing with vodka. Tasted straight, the mixer has a pure lemon flavor, not too cloying and somehow fresh tasting. Ingredients are as follows: Triple (!!!) filtered water, lemon juice from concentrate, cane sugar, citric acid, natural flavors, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), Beta Carotene (source of Vitamin A).
Nutritional Information. This is undoubtedly superfluous in a mixer for alcohol-based drinks, but since it's on the bottle, I'll list it. In 3 ounces (the bottle is 8 ounces total) you get 80 calories, no fat, no cholesterol, no sodium, 20 mg. of carbohydrates, 18 grams of sugar (no surprises there), no fiber, no protein, no calicum, no iron, 2% of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of Vitamin A (based on a 2,000 calorie perday diet), and a full 100% of the RDA for Vitamin C. However, I am loathe to recommended this for staving off scurvey and other Vitamin C deficiency-related conditions.
Stirrings makes many other flavors including the puzzling apple, and the more comprehensible cranberry, for all you cosmopolitans out there. One additional not, "Lemon Drop" is made with the "bittersweet" Eureka lemon. Combing this with cane sugar, accoding to Stirrings, results in "two opposites colliding...sweet nirvana." I"m not sure I'd go that far, but with the right recipe, this is a useful, flavorful product.
