| Customer Reviews: 3 months overdue! April 22, 2010 R. Hari If the customer above was upset about not having had the bonsai after 1 month, I haven't had mine after 3 months+ and have now gone ahead and had a refund (something I should have done 3 months ago!)I purchased mine from M&M Bonsai and they were nice initially and sent me a much cheaper bonsai to silence me. Everytime I look at the 'real' picture and what I was given instead to tide over the 'bad weather' it aggravated me and I think the other Bonsai felt it too so it has kind of shrivelled up now. All in all, decided to never buy plants over the internet again. It was truly a bad decision. I've given 2 stars because the packaging was great but I never got to see what I paid for! Going now to a local Japanese Bonsai shop to get the 'real' thing!
What truly bugged me was that sellers were selling plants actively knowing it was bad weather and they could not ship. How wierd is that?
Haven't received it yet and it's over a month due January 31, 2010 bobechi (San Jose, CA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I understand that a plant being put in the mail in the cold of winter is an unsound request, but this was supposed to be a gift, so what am I supposed to do?
There's NO option to mail a plant so that it won't freeze?
Fukien Awesome Tree!! December 9, 2009 Clayton Hansen (FL) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have found that first reviews are rarely helpful to me, the shopper, as my sensitivity to bias is heightened by the "first" review. I picture the seller sitting on his/her friends computer writing the first review for her/his product to get sales going. But I assure you, I am not that guy/girl. But then who that writes a great review is not bias. You have to be when you receive a great product, as is the case here.
So yea, the thing came so well wrapped that it took a while to actually get it out of the box. The soil and pot were wrapped in plastic wrap to prevent spillage and the rest of the box was packed with so many peanuts I am still picking them out of places that I will not mention here.
The tree itself has little green leaves, little white flowers, and little green to yellow then red fruits. The trunk is well formed and perfectly proportioned. Its curvy in all the right places with branch placement in classic bonsai style (found out later). The pot is small and orange and is about as big as my hand. The tree is about eight inches tall and looks like bonsai tree (go figure).
I do not expect that all who read this will get a perfect tree. What is perfect about this tree for me may not be perfect for you. I ordered it under the assumption that all bonsai's are a work in progress. I took a chance based on the amount of care I was willing to provide it regardless of its condition upon arrival.
I was woefully surprised.
