Product Description BeaterBlade continuously beats, scrapes, folds and mixes ingredients for KitchenAid 5-qt. Plus and 6-qt. Stand Mixers. Virtually eliminates hand scraping and batter build-up on the beater or bowl. Ingredients are thoroughly incorporated ensuring foolproof mixing and baking preparation. BeaterBlade can also be used for mashed potatoes, compound butters, meatloaf, pie fillings, gum paste and more!Patented BeaterBlade ???wing-system??? design acts like a wiper blade that continuously scrapes sides and bottom of bowl while it mixes. Cuts mixing time by as much as 50%. Perfect for cakes, cookies, frostings, quick breads & much more. BeaterBlade is not recommended for bread dough, ultra thick cookie dough and some frozen foods. If the batter becomes too thick, revert to your traditional flat beater.

It works, but.... November 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The beater blade is good and does clean the side of the bowl. However, I find it retains the "thinner" (ie: eggs, etc) in the middle of the blade and I have to make sure it get mixed back in by stopping and pushing it out into the batter. Also the blade retains some of the first mixed dough on the blade so it is advisable to scrape it off before you are finsihed mixing.
Great product November 4, 2008 I have used this many times over the past month and am finding that it does a VERY efficient job of mixing ingredients. I haven't had to scrape down the bowl at all. I hope that the fact that it is plastic rather than metal doesn't mean it will have a short life. That is my only concern.
I'll call it a scraper blade! October 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really do like this beater for cakes. I don't have to wipe down the sides of the bowl. I think it mixes very well.
What a great invention! October 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a difference between this and the flat paddle that comes with the Kitchen aid mixer! I have the 6 quart mixer, and I have always had to stop the machine during mixing to scape the bowl. Well, I don't anymore thanks to the Beater Blade. It incorporates ingredients perfectly and very quickly too. No more scraping necessary!

I liked this product because it cuts mixing time. When your doing bigger jobs, such as those that the 6 qt handles this is your friend, in a time crunch. This product deserves an award for Best Kitchen Gadget Innovation of the year. I also love it because although it's a light weight plastic, it doesn't chip like the coating on the good quality kitchenaid beaters when you tap them on the side of the bowl to get the batter off. I don't like the burnish beaters that come with the 6qt because they are not dishwasher safe and these are. But don't let the light weight plastic fool you into thinking it can't handle thick batters, it can! This was a perfect fit for my 6 qt mixer.I wrote a review for the smaller beater blade as well because I like the product so much I included another review here after using both beater blades.
