UL Listed features self-contained ballast and a smaller diffused specular aluminum reflector for optimal intensity and the option to air cool. Hydrofarm Sunburst Metal Halide grow light systems emit mostly blue light. Plants use blue light for vegetative leaf growth and it prevents plants from stretching and elongating. Halides offer very little red light and do not fruit or flower plants effectively. Bulbs should be replaced every year of use.
