A waffle baker, grill, and griddle, this three-in-one appliance comes in handy during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and after school. Key to the unit's versatility are two 8-inch-square cooking plates--one set into the product's bottom and the other into the hinged top. On one side the plates form grids for making four waffles at once. Flipped over to show their flat sides they're capable of top and bottom grilling a sandwich or steak. To create griddle space, the top opens up flat, forming two 8-inch-square cooking surfaces for all foods that love a griddle--such as pancakes, hash browns, and eggs. Channels send grease to spouts in the griddles' corners, where it drains away. Nonstick to release food easily and wipe clean, the cooking plates also can be removed for scrubbing. A heat control offers high, low, and medium temperatures. With its chrome housing and stay-cool black synthetic handles, this 900-watt appliance looks great on the counter. I'm pleased overall! January 7, 2009
Overall this is a good product. The only complaint I have is that the lid doesn't really have any weight to it to press down on the meat evenly but it made the burgers fine. The waffle side worked great.

We have and will only buy this waffle maker for ourselves and others. The waffles are big and makes four at once. Waffles are always cooked thoroughly.

I have the Black in Decker Waffle maker and we love it. My daughter wanted one for Christmas for her house. She wanted Black & Decker Waffle maker likes the one we have. Makes great Waffles.

In theory, this item is great. It makes waffles and it can cook a porkchop in 4 minutes. However, be prepared for a nasty burn if you graze any part of the grill other than the tiny black handles. Also, even after "conditioning" the cooking plates as per the instructions, everything we cooked stuck to the cooking surfaces; both the flat and the waffle side. On top of that, the grease rails on the sides of the flat surfaces are not deep enough and 1 hamburger generates more than enough grease to overflow the channels and spill hot grease all over the grill and your counter top. Finally, the small clip that holds the cooking surface on the top part of the grill is too small. At least once during every cooking, the top hotplate would detach from the lid. It was always a tricky situation trying to get a trapped hamburger out from between 2 greasy, 300 degree hotplates that now have no handle. It's really disappointing because this could have been a great product if a little more thought had gone into the end design.
